MISSION STATEMENT:

Our mission here at our TVPW Cheer is to promote safety, leadership, responsibility, sportsmanship and fun while providing an environment built with confidence in which the cheerleading athlete is both academically and physically fit. Temecula Valley Pop Warner Cheer program offers a fun & unique experience for youth cheerleaders, ages 5-13 years old. Cheerleaders are dedicated athletes who not only excel competitively but also academically through our Little Scholars program.

AGE DIVISIONS:

Our cheer Program offers Divisions for

  • Tiny-Mite (Ages 5-7)

  • Mitey- Mite (Ages 7-9)

  • Jr. Pee Wee (Ages 8-11)

  • Pee Wee (Ages 9-12)

  • Jr. Varsity (Ages 10-13)

There are no tryouts, everyone is assigned to a team depending upon their age and skill level. We may have a Skill Assessment Day, but please note this is not a “try out”. Cheer teams cheer for the football teams of the like age group/division. Cheer teams will cheer for their football teams every Saturday when the season starts.

CHEER SEASON:

Practices will start no earlier than August 1st. August is a very critical month. This is the time that cheers/chants are being taught, skill-sets are being evaluated, JAMZ Camp (team bonding!), your athlete gets certified at player certification day (see below), and positions get determined. Cheering is made up in two components; Sideline Cheer and Competition Cheer. Cheerleaders must participate in both components in order to be on a cheer roster. Both components require commitment and dedication, with practices and performances throughout the season. Cheering from the sideline will start August-November. All football games are played on Saturdays. Parents are responsible for providing transportation to all games for their cheerleader. Our first Locals Competition is usually towards the end of October. While our Regionals Competition is in November. Competitions can last til January, depends on Coach and teams!

TEAMWORK:

Cheerleading is a TEAM sport that requires lots of team effort and commitment. Attendance is critical to your cheerleader’s success and the teams overall success and safety. Safety is our priority. When positions are formed, the girls rely on each other and work very hard on their routines and stunts by not only building friendships but also building trust within each other, this is especially true with the stunt groups. Unlike other team sports, we don’t have “back up players” to fill-in if someone is missing last minute. Therefore, attendance is mandatory. In order to ensure that all cheerleaders have a fair chance to compete and perform to the best of their abilities, they must attend all scheduled practices and games. Unless noted otherwise to the Coach in regards to a missed practice, was due to an illness, injury, and/or emergency.

PLAYER CERTIFICATION DAY: MANDATORY:

Pop Warner certifications are to ensure player eligibility for each division. It is mandatory that your child attends. If your child cannot be there, they will not be certified to play in the current season. Please advise your Head Coach as soon as possible if there are any conflicts.

COACHES:

Our TVPW Cheer program has been growing over the last few years and we are in need of more volunteers to help support our teams. Our volunteer coaches are all Live Scan and YCADA certified. If you, or someone you know is interested in learning more about coaching, please reach out to the VP of TVPW Cheer. We are always looking for volunteer head coaches, assistant coaches, and/or student trainers to help make the cheer season amazing for the athletes! You do not have to have cheer experience or a child in the program. We hope you get involved and join us!
